  1. Cut & Paste: An Analog Collage Workshop, Peer Tutors, Tuesday, November 10
How can we use analog technologies to make meaning in a digital world? One answer: use scissors and glue and old magazines to make something new from something old! Come make a collage at the Writing Center! Peer Tutors will facilitate this Pen & Prompt workshop, where we’ll turn off the ChatBots and power down our laptops to create collages using old magazines, newspapers, photos; we’ll have the material — and snacks! — you come with the creativity!

  2. Reading With or Without Generative AI, Prof. Addison Eldin, Friday, September 18
How has your approach to reading as a student changed since 2019? While classes are generally no longer taught over Zoom, the effects of remote learning on how we approach and value the classes we take still remain for many. Further, generative AI has only added to a sense that the experience of being a student, especially in college, has changed. A "tool" vs. a "shortcut" can be hard to determine when the tools can do so much of the work for us. This workshop will help you reflect on and start to define a process for how you read in college, with and without the use of digital technology. Addison Eldin, Teaching Assistant Professor in English, will lead the workshop. Her courses focus on the intersections of English (both composition and literature) and digital technology.
